THE PAST AND PRESENT,

FOR THE FUTURE.

The Governors of Michigan Social Media Archive

About

The Archives of Michigan permanently preserves Michigan’s gubernatorial social media accounts.

This social media archive promotes government transparency and includes content from Michigan’s Executive Office from 2011-2022. New material is added at the end of each four-year term.

A Social Media Archive

This archive was designed to provide the public with lasting access to the social media content created by the Executive Office of Governor Rick Snyder. It will serve as a permanent repository of the administration’s social media activity, regardless of what happens to the various social media platforms in the future.

Partners

In July 2018, Archives of Michigan staff began the process of preserving outgoing Governor Rick Snyder’s social media accounts. The archives partnered with ArchiveSocial to provide the public a searchable archive of the administrations’s eight years of social media content.

The Archives of Michigan is the official repository for Michigan’s historical state and local government records. It also collects private manuscript records that reflect the history of Michigan, holds the Abrams Foundation Historical Collection for family history and administers the Seeking Michigan web site.
